Wizards of Words

PURPOSE

WOW is an organization primarily made up of writers of all genres and promises to provide ways and means to improve its members’ writing, to help establish writing careers, and to seek to provide support within the publishing community. 

GUIDELINES

TO FULFILL OUR PURPOSE:

1.  WOW accepts that a charter and regular member join the organization in order to establish, maintain, and/or enhance a career as a writer; an associate member (fledging writer, fan, reader, book-lover, editor, agent, publisher) joins to give support to author members.

2.  WOW maintains and offers an environment that:

            a.  informs and is involved

            b.  professional and positive

            c.  is positive in working with its agent and publishing members and affiliates

3.  WOW provides the following to its members: 

            a.  an Annual Conference, including workshop, panels, & WOW bookstore

            b.  Regional Chapter affiliations, who will hold monthly or bi-monthly meetings

            c.  Awards

            d.  Quarterly newsletters

4.  WOW follows the rules of proper business and fiscal reporting, and in addition to the executive director, maintains a strong volunteer Board of Directors, officers and support staff to manage and provide the above, and has an open door policy with its members.
